It’s time for another Weekend at the Museum event at Glenbow! These family-friendly events happen three times a year and are usually related to a special exhibition that’s happening at the museum. This month’s event is timed to coincide with the Father’s Day weekend and focuses on the new Masterworks from the Beaverbrook Art Gallery exhibition.
Instructors from Storybook Theatre will be on hand to guide families through fun activities. You’ll be able to act out a scene from a classic painting and hone your stagecraft skills. In celebration of the Bee Kingdom: Iconoclasts in Glass exhibit, there will also be a stained-glass activity to help you learn about the art of glass. There will also be other crafts, hands-on activities, behind-the-scenes tours, and more!
And, if you haven’t checked out Glenbow in a while, this is a great opportunity to see what’s new with this ever-evolving Calgary institution. Earlier this year, Glenbow announced a new mandate to provide visitors with a new kind of art museum experience. The goal is to have more people experience art and culture more often, and this event is a perfect way to involve your family in that initiative.
Admission to Weekend at the Museum is free for Glenbow members or $32 for Family admission, which includes two adults and up to four youth. All activities, workshops and supplies are included with admission or membership.
