It’s time for another Weekend at the Museum event at Glenbow! These family-friendly events happen three times a year and usually coincide with a special exhibition happening at the museum. As the air gains a bit of a chill, the upcoming weekend event has a cool theme, in a literal sense of the word.
Together with the Calgary Zoo and TELUS Spark, the Glenbow will educate families about all things arctic, while exploring the world of icy culture and making art inspired by the animals that live in sub-zero environments. Find polar bears fascinating and wonder how they thrive without a fireplace and coffee to keep them warm? Also wanted to know more about what characteristics and traits help penguins survive under the cute tuxedoed exterior? Answer all your questions with the experts and through crafts, hands-on activities, behind-the-scenes tours, and more!
And, if you haven’t checked out Glenbow in a while, this is a great opportunity to see what’s new with this ever-evolving Calgary institution. Earlier this year, Glenbow announced a new mandate to provide visitors with a new kind of art museum experience. The goal is to help more people experience art and culture more often, and this event is a perfect way to involve your family in that initiative.
Admission to Weekend at the Museum is free for Glenbow members or $32 for Family admission, which includes two adults and up to four youth. All activities, workshops and supplies are included with admission or membership.
