Since winter had pretty much been non-existent this year, we decided this past weekend to go for a picnic to Elbow Falls in Kananaskis.
Elbow Falls is a great little walk for small children but since there is snow still on the ground, the walk ways are closed but there is quite a bit of space along the river to walk.
They have quite a few picnic tables and a bunch of fire pits, so we packed some hotdogs, snacks and some match-light briquettes.
The kids were in heaven having a picnic in their snow pants and kept themselves very entertained going for a ‘hike’ with the walking sticks they found on the ground.
We are lucky to live in south Calgary, so Elbow Falls was only a 25 minute drive for us, so worth it on a sunny February morning.
