Every year the Stampede lights up Calgary’s sky with a fireworks display, but this year, they’re doing something really special. In celebration of the Stampede’s Centennial, special fireworks events will be set up in locations across the city to create the largest and most sophisticated firework event ever produced in Canada. Light Up the City will take place on both weekends of the Stampede at five locations across the city. Each display will feature a 12-minute fireworks show set to synchronized music. Crank up the music by tuning in to Country 105, Q107 or QR77 and listen along on your radio.
The displays will be held at Stampede Park, Elliston Park, Heritage Park, McCall Lake, and Winsport’s Canada Olympic Park. Seating will not be provided at any of these outdoor locations, so be sure to bring a blanket or festival chairs and dress for the weather. More information on each location can be found at the Stampede website, listed below. This free event is open to Calgarians and visitors of all ages.
