Only one more week to go before we are in December and that means full-fledged Christmas shopping season begins! I’ve made my list and checked it twice but there are still some people that I struggle to shop for, such as my son’s teacher… Can anyone relate? Is it just me that finds it a bit awkward? Last year I bought a lovely mug and some very fancy coffee from a boutique shop. His teacher was gracious when she told me she would enjoy her tea in the mug. Um, how can she teach Kindergarten and NOT drink coffee? Just between me and you I don’t trust non-coffee drinkers.
This weekend I went to a get together with a bunch of moms and there were a few teachers in the group. Our conversation turned to Christmas gifts for teachers. There was a hush in the room as all the moms listened to one of the teachers dish. I guess I am not the only one who suffers from his sort of angst! She told us about the best and worst gifts she has received over the years; everything from the gaudy (certain bits of jewellery) to the glamorous (furs!). But her all time favorite gifts were the personal gifts (ie. bookmarks, crafts) handmade by her kids and movie gift cards.
