
Can you believe that crazy snowfall last night? Thankfully it should be a little warmer by the weekend so we can get out and enjoy the great things happening in Calgary to celebrate Thanksgiving!
We’ve compiled a list of Special Events happening during the Thanksgiving Long Weekend. Between turkey dinners and family functions, here are some special long weekend activities where you can spend some time together having fun. Click on the title of each listing for more details.
Heritage Park
Heritage Park is celebrating their annual Thank You weekend. In addition to offering a full turkey dinner at the Wainright Hotel, all the rides in the park are free with regular paid admission. (October 6-8th, 2012).
Calaway Park
Calaway Park and Calgary CO-OP have teamed up to offer reduced admission to Calaway Park to celebrate their annual Thank You Calgary weekend. If you are a Calgary CO-OP member you are eligible to receive a special admission rate of $5.00 for you and up to three people. You must show your Calgary CO-OP membership card to be eligible for this special rate. (October 6-8, 2012)
Butterfield Acres Harvest Pumpkin Hunt
Each year, eager kids get dressed up to go on a wagon ride in search of adorable mini pumpkins hidden by the folks at Butterfield Acres. It is a popular event for Calgary families and tickets sell out fast.
Calgary Corn Maze Autumn Pumpkin Festival
In addition to the corn mazes, petting zoo, and fun farm there will be special activities, crafts, a pumpkin carving contest and more. A portion of admission costs will go to the Alberta Cancer Foundation for every child dressed in their Halloween costume! (October 6-8 2012)
Kayben Farms Pumpkin and Scarecrow Festival
Visit Kayben Farms for a day of fresh air, pumpkin crafts, contests, food, live music, corn maze, children’s activities and more. (October 6, 2012)
