Fantastic Gymnastics
My son Evan has a birthday in late fall so we had the parental dilemma of deciding if he would be the youngest in his class or the eldest in his class. This year I opted not to put Evan in pre-school because he is quite shy and I don't think he was ready.
I figured it would be good to have him in some kind of structured play where he learns to sit down, take turns and wait in line. He loves to jump on his cousin's trampoline and do sommersaults so I thought a gymnastics class would be ideal! He absolutely loves it!
We have him registered through a University of Calgary program but the classes are held at the Spray Lakes Recreation Centre in Cochrane. If you have thought about a gymnastics class for your child but are uncertain if they would like it or not, some of the facilities have open gym times to try them out.
We have a listing for them on the indoor play areas on our webpage.
The Spray Lakes Recereation Centre has open gym for ages 10 and under on Saturdays for one hour at 3:30pm and again at 4:45pm. At 6:00pm there is open gym for children 11-15. The cost per child is $5.00 for ages 3 and over, 2 years olds get to try it out for free.
